2/27: Season Ends For Raritan's Six At Regions
Matt Lindo, Matt Mitchell, Joe Masi, Ryan Lynch, Cameron Lentze, and Sebastian Lodato all had their seasons ended on Saturday at the 2010 Region 6 Tournament. For Mitchell, Lentze, and Lodato, it brings an end to their high school careers.
Mitchell (29-5) finishes his career with 81 wins for the Rockets. He was 3-time District medal winner, including a 1st place medal in 2009, and a State Tournament qualifier as a junior.
Lindo, Masi, and Lynch all return for the Rockets in 2011, and along with Jason Bohal and Steve Corona, will give the Rockets five Region 6 participants returning next season.

Sophomore Matt Lindo won the 103-pound weight class to become the 99th District champion in Raritan history, and nine Rockets in all won medals as Raritan put on a strong performance to place 2nd as a team at this year's District 22 Tournament.
Lindo receives a bye into Friday night's Region 6 quarterfinals while the five 2nd place and three 3rd place finishers will be in action on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 2010 Region 6 Tournament at the Ritacco Center in Toms River.

2010 Season Preview

Nine wrestlers that combined for over 200 wins in 2009 have graduated leaving the Rockets with a very young, but talented, lineup in 2010.
Matt Mitchell, the Region runner up at 112 a year ago, is the lone senior in the lineup from 103-160 showing just how young the Rockets will be. Junior Connor McGrath and sophomore Matt Lindo put up double digit win totals in 2009 and should hit the 20+ mark in 2010. Lettermen Nick Liguori, a sophomore, and juniors Tom Broderick and Brian French also return in the lower half. Freshmen Vincent Masi, Eric Mojica, Anthony Scarcella, Tyler Sookedo, and Jason Bohel will also look to contribute for Raritan.
Up top, seniors Sebastian Lodato and Cameron Lentze and juniors Ryan Lynch and Joe Masi are all returners who hit double digits in wins in 2009. Lynch in particular had a standout year as a sophomore picking up 31 wins on his way to a District title at 152. Masi had a solid summer on the tourney scene and could have a breakout year.

2/27: Season Ends For Raritan's Six At Regions
Matt Lindo, Matt Mitchell, Joe Masi, Ryan Lynch, Cameron Lentze, and Sebastian Lodato all had their seasons ended on Saturday at the 2010 Region 6 Tournament. For Mitchell, Lentze, and Lodato, it brings an end to their high school careers.
Mitchell (29-5) finishes his career with 81 wins for the Rockets. He was 3-time District medal winner, including a 1st place medal in 2009, and a State Tournament qualifier as a junior.
Lindo, Masi, and Lynch all return for the Rockets in 2011, and along with Jason Bohal and Steve Corona, will give the Rockets five Region 6 participants returning next season.

Sophomore Matt Lindo won the 103-pound weight class to become the 99th District champion in Raritan history, and nine Rockets in all won medals as Raritan put on a strong performance to place 2nd as a team at this year's District 22 Tournament.
Lindo receives a bye into Friday night's Region 6 quarterfinals while the five 2nd place and three 3rd place finishers will be in action on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 2010 Region 6 Tournament at the Ritacco Center in Toms River.

2010 Season Preview
Head Coach: Rob Nucci (9th Season / 157-43)
Nine wrestlers that combined for over 200 wins in 2009 have graduated leaving the Rockets with a very young, but talented, lineup in 2010.
Matt Mitchell, the Region runner up at 112 a year ago, is the lone senior in the lineup from 103-160 showing just how young the Rockets will be. Junior Connor McGrath and sophomore Matt Lindo put up double digit win totals in 2009 and should hit the 20+ mark in 2010. Lettermen Nick Liguori, a sophomore, and juniors Tom Broderick and Brian French also return in the lower half. Freshmen Vincent Masi, Eric Mojica, Anthony Scarcella, Tyler Sookedo, and Jason Bohel will also look to contribute for Raritan.
Up top, seniors Sebastian Lodato and Cameron Lentze and juniors Ryan Lynch and Joe Masi are all returners who hit double digits in wins in 2009. Lynch in particular had a standout year as a sophomore picking up 31 wins on his way to a District title at 152. Masi had a solid summer on the tourney scene and could have a breakout year.

With such a young group down low, Mitchell will be relied on heavily to be a strong presence down low. He picked up 33 wins in 2009, 22 of them coming by fall, on his way to a 2nd place finish at Regions. He'll be in the hunt for the title this season at 119 as well as a spot on the podium in Boardwalk Hall.
DESPO's Outlook
The Rockets are young, but still have some very solid talent in the lineup. How far they will go in 2010 will most likely depend on just how fast the newcomers in the lineup come along. Raritan has won A-Central every year since the division was created and will be a part of what appears to be a three team race for the crown with Matawan and St. John Vianney. With the tough schedule, and one of the Shore's best all around coaching staffs, the Rockets will be awfully tough come Districts. This is a team that is going to be awfully tough in 2010-2011...
