Senior Nick Liguori won his 2nd District title and junior Jason Bohal claimed his 1st as the Raritan Rockets had nine medal winners in all to place 2nd at this year's District 22 Tournament.
Liguori and Bohal will receive byes into the quarterfinal round of the Region 6 Tournament, while the 2nd and 3rd place finishers will be in action on Wednesday night in the opening round at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.

With nine double digit winners returning, including six wrestlers with Region experience, and a slew of talented newcomers looking to make an immediate impact, the Rockets will once again feature one of the Shore's most balanced and talented lineups.
The stretch of 113-138 is going to be flat out brutal, with all five projected starters having won District medals in 2011. Among those medal winners is returning champion Nick Liguori who would go on to place 4th at 125 pounds. The other four, senior Matt Lindo and juniors Anthony Scarcella, Vin Masi, and Jason Bohal all topped the 20+ win mark, with Bohal eclipsing the 30+ mark with 32.
The Rockets hope to take advantage of the revamped weights as they return a good amount of experience up top highlighted by the senior trio of Vic Ianello, Steve Corona, and Nick Rice, who combined for 47 wins in 2011.
With this much talent, balance, and depth, the Rockets definitely have the potential to be a Top 5 team in the Shore. They are heavy favorites to win the Division, and will be strong contenders for the District 22 championship and the Sectional title where their top challengers should be Long Branch and a tough Delaware Valley squad.

A 4th place finisher in Atlantic City in 2011, Liguori will have his eyes on an even higher spot on the Boardwalk Hall podium in 2012.
